My Children’s Thoughts on Homeschooling

my children's thoughts on homeschooling

This week, I asked my own children about homeschooling. I sat down for an interview with each of them and here are my children’s thoughts on homeschooling!

My Children’s Thoughts on Homeschooling

First I interviewed my daughter, age 6:

Why Does Our Family Homeschool?

Because you (Mom) want to have fun with your kids.

What is Your Favourite Part of Homeschooling?

Being with my mom.

What is Your Favourite Subject?

Star Wars Math

What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?

Lots of things. A Birdwatcher, backhorse rider, ballet dancer, singer, actor, and I think that’s it.

She also wanted to share…

I like to learn things and I like to learn about Medieval Times and read books about it. I really am looking forward to our Medieval Feast and we get to dress up and it’s going to be really fun!

Then I interviewed my son, age 11:

my son - children's thoughts on homeschooling - fencing

Why Does Our Family Homeschool?

Because school is time-consuming due to many children in a single class, and in homeschool you get things done more quickly which opens up time slots for other activities.

What Is Your Favourite Part of Homeschooling?

Being done early and having extra time for extracurricular activities – dance, theatre, writing, etc.

What Is Your Favourite “Subject”?

Logic/Critical Thinking

What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?

At the moment, an actor/writer/director/chef.

What fun interviews! Take a moment to ask your children’s thoughts on homeschooling today!

Love, Luck &
Laughter,

  1. I never would have thought a child’s favorite subject would be logic/critical thinking. Way to go Connor!! Definitely need to be a critical thinker to be a writer or director.
